Vania

The “Vania” Sculpture has the intention of showing the attachment to winning or succeeding in life, of overcoming ones difficulties. The joke of it is that as Vania wins, she also loses as part of her is beaten as she stands over herself.

The times when we have lost and won things at the same time, this paradox is interesting. It makes me wonder why we are not more aware of our struggles. Why not let life just come along, and go with it, rather than follow that desire to “have it all” or ” be the best”. This Sculpture embodies the dominance of desire.
